This Privacy Policy explains how GTA Cheats Guide ("the App"), developed by Code Library ("we," "us," "our"), collects, uses, and discloses information when you use the App.
GTA Cheats Guide is an unofficial, fan-made reference application and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Rockstar Games, Take-Two Interactive, or any of their subsidiaries. All game names and trademarks referenced belong to their respective owners.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Content loading and on-device storage
The App loads game lists, cheat sheets, missions, characters, and promotional banners from Google Cloud Firestore. Images are loaded from URLs stored in that content, currently files hosted on GitHub (raw.githubusercontent.com). Connecting to these services involves a normal network request, so Google and GitHub receive technical data associated with those requests (such as your IP address and standard device or app information) and process it under their own privacy policies (Google, GitHub).
The App also stores information on your device only (not on our own servers), including:
Cached game, cheat, mission, character, and banner content so the App can load faster and work if the network is unavailable
Cheats and games you save as favourites
Whether you have completed first-run setup
Advertising consent choices stored by Google's User Messaging Platform / Mobile Ads SDK
We do not use this information to create an account for you or to identify you by name.
1.2 Advertising Data
The App displays advertisements through Google AdMob (Google Mobile Ads SDK). To serve ads, Google and its advertising partners may collect:
Your advertising identifier (Android Advertising ID)
Device and app information
IP address and approximate location
Ad interaction data (impressions, clicks)
If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you will be shown a consent form before any ads are requested, allowing you to consent, decline, or manage your preferences in detail. You can change your choice at any time via Privacy options in the App (Home screen, information icon).
You can also opt out of personalized advertising generally through your device's ad settings (Android: Settings → Google → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalization, or delete / reset your advertising ID).
1.3 Usage Analytics (Google Analytics for Firebase)
The App uses Google Analytics for Firebase to understand how the App is used, so we can decide which games and features to improve. It may collect:
An app-instance identifier generated for this installation of the App
Device and app information (device model, operating system version, app version, language, and approximate country/region derived from your IP address)
How you use the App: screens viewed, games and platforms opened, cheats viewed, copied, favourited or shared, missions opened, and search terms entered in the App's cheat search
Session information such as first launch, session start, and time spent in the App
Summary advertising events reported by the Mobile Ads SDK (for example, that an ad was shown)
Analytics data is not used to identify you by name and is not used by us to personalize ads. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, the App runs Analytics in a restricted mode: it does not store the app-instance identifier on your device and sends only limited, non-identifying signals.
Please do not type personal information (such as your name or email address) into the cheat search box.
1.4 Crash Reporting (Firebase Crashlytics)
The App uses Firebase Crashlytics to receive reports when the App crashes or hits an error, so we can fix problems. A crash report may include:
Technical details of the error (stack trace) and the state of the App when it happened
Device and app information (device model, operating system version, app version, available memory and storage, orientation)
A Crashlytics installation identifier generated for this installation of the App
Crash reports do not include your name, contacts, or the content of your device.
1.5 Information We Do Not Collect
We do not require account creation, sign-up, or login of any kind.
We do not collect your name, email address, or phone number.
We do not access your contacts, photos, or media.
We do not collect precise (GPS) location.
We do not collect payment details. This version of the App does not offer in-app purchases.
We do not sell your personal information.
2. How We Use Information
To load, cache, and display cheat-guide content
To remember your favourites, advertising consent choice, and first-run setup on this device
To display advertisements and allow Google to measure ad performance
To understand how the App is used and improve its content and features (Google Analytics for Firebase)
To detect, diagnose, and fix crashes and errors (Firebase Crashlytics)
3. Third-Party Services
The App relies on the following third-party services, each governed by its own privacy policy. Google acts as a service provider to us for Firebase services.
We encourage you to review these third parties' privacy policies to understand how they process data.
4. Children's Privacy
GTA Cheats Guide is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or the relevant age of digital consent in your region). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us using the details below so we can address it.
5. Data Retention & Security
We do not maintain our own servers storing personal user data. Content cache, favourites, and first-run status remain on your device until you clear the App's data or uninstall the App. Advertising consent is stored by Google's Mobile Ads SDK on the device.
Analytics: user-level analytics data is retained by Google for 14 months, after which it is deleted automatically; aggregated reports may be kept longer.
Crash reports: retained by Firebase Crashlytics for 90 days.
Content requests: requests to Firestore and image hosts are processed by Google and GitHub according to their own retention practices.
All data sent by the App to these services is encrypted in transit (HTTPS).
6. Your Rights & Choices
You may manage or withdraw advertising consent at any time via Privacy options in the App (Home screen, information icon).
You may opt out of personalized advertising, or reset or delete your advertising ID, through your device's system settings.
Clearing the App's data or uninstalling the App deletes everything stored on your device and resets the analytics and crash-reporting identifiers.
You may request information about, or deletion of, data associated with your installation by contacting us below (see Deleting your data).
Residents of the EEA, UK, and certain US states may have additional rights under GDPR, UK GDPR, or applicable state privacy laws (e.g., access, deletion, or objection rights) — contact us to exercise these.
Deleting your data — GTA Cheats Guide (Code Library)
GTA Cheats Guide has no user accounts, so we never hold your name, email address, or any data linked to your identity. Data about your use of the App is tied only to random identifiers created for your installation. You can delete it as follows:
Delete everything stored on your device: open Android Settings → Apps → GTA Cheats Guide → Storage → Clear storage, or uninstall the App. This immediately deletes cached content, favourites, first-run status, and advertising-consent choices, and resets the analytics and crash-reporting installation identifiers, so any future data is no longer linked to earlier data.
Reset or delete your advertising ID: Android Settings → Google → Ads → Reset advertising ID (or Delete advertising ID). This unlinks previously collected advertising data from your device.
Ask us to delete data: email sainirohan27@gmail.com with the subject "Data deletion request — GTA Cheats Guide". We will reply within 30 days and delete any analytics or crash data we can associate with the details you provide.
What is deleted and what is kept:
On-device data (cache, favourites, settings): deleted immediately when you clear storage or uninstall.
Usage analytics (Google Analytics for Firebase): not linked to your identity; automatically deleted after 14 months.
Crash reports (Firebase Crashlytics): automatically deleted after 90 days.
Aggregated, non-identifying statistics (for example, total daily users) may be kept.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
